Symbols on Binance

Binance names USDⓈ-M perpetuals and spot pairs alike (BTCUSDT); COIN-M perpetuals end in _PERP (BTCUSD_PERP) and quarterly contracts carry their expiry date (BTCUSD_251226). Because the same symbol exists as spot and as perpetual, Edgetrail always asks for the market type first. Binance USDⓈ-M futures trades can also be imported into the journal with a read-only API key.

How a session runs and which tools are on the chart is the same on every exchange – it is described once on the replay overview. All four exchanges side by side, with the oldest candle of every market type, are in the crypto candle history data.

Funding and costs

Binance settles funding on its perpetuals at different intervals. In the snapshot of 4 November 2026, 559 perpetuals with a funding rate were counted: 428 every 4 hours, 130 every 8 hours and 1 every hour. Replay results in Edgetrail don’t include funding payments, so check the interval of your market before you hold a backtest position across funding times; the funding fee calculator turns a rate into a cost. Live trades you import into the journal carry the result as Binance booked it.
