Prop firm challenge tracker in your journal
Daily loss, max drawdown and profit target – with a warning before you break a rule.
Short answer
Edgetrail’s prop firm mode puts the rules of your challenge (for example FTMO-style rules) next to your own trades: account size, maximum daily loss, maximum drawdown – static or trailing – profit target and minimum trading days. The dashboard shows how much room is left today and to the drawdown limit, and Edgetrail warns you at 75% and at 100% of each limit, once per level.
Rules you can set
- Account size and an optional name for the challenge.
- Maximum daily loss in percent of the starting balance.
- Maximum drawdown, static (never below start minus X%) or trailing (the limit follows the high-water mark, at most up to the starting balance – how most futures prop firms do it). The free trailing drawdown calculator shows the room to both kinds of floor as well.
- Profit target in percent, passed only with the minimum number of trading days and no rule broken.
- Start date of the challenge, so earlier trades do not count.
How it is calculated
The basis is the realised result of closed trades since the start of the challenge, in the current account. Open positions are not realised and do not count – the prop firm does count them, which is why the dashboard says so. The daily loss is the sum of the day by closing date. The settings are stored with your account, so they survive a reload and a new device.
The rules of three crypto-friendly prop firms
Each prop firm counts the daily loss and the drawdown a little differently, and the rules change. We keep dated summaries from the firms’ own pages: FTMO rules, HyroTrader rules and Breakout rules. Enter the numbers from your own challenge in Edgetrail, not ours – your contract is what counts.
Combined with the rest of Edgetrail
Use the position size calculator to size trades from your risk per trade, the pre-trade check to decide whether you should trade at all today, and the journal to see which setup passes challenges and which one fails them. Edgetrail costs $24 a month or $199 a year; the first 50 Founders pay $99 once, after that a Lifetime plan costs $249 once. The first 14 days are free without a credit card, and every payment comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Does Edgetrail support trailing drawdown?
Yes. The maximum drawdown can be static or trailing; trailing follows the high-water mark and stops at the starting balance.
Does the prop firm mode count open positions?
No, it uses realised results of closed trades. Prop firms usually include open positions, so the dashboard notes that open trades are not in the numbers.
Can I track an FTMO challenge in Edgetrail?
Yes. Enter the account size, daily loss limit, maximum drawdown, profit target and minimum trading days of your challenge; Edgetrail tracks them against your closed trades and warns before a limit is reached.
