HyroTrader rules and how to track them in Edgetrail
Daily drawdown, maximum loss, targets and trading days for Zero-, One- and Two-Step – checked on HyroTrader’s pages on 22 October 2026.
Short answer
HyroTrader’s daily drawdown is 3%, 4% or 5% of the initial balance (Zero-, One- and Two-Step), measured from your equity at 00:00 UTC each day, and its maximum loss is 5%, 6% or 10% of the initial balance and static. The profit target is 10% (Two-Step: 10%, then 5%), with at least 1, 5 or 5 trading days per phase. These limits map directly onto Edgetrail’s prop firm mode; the values per program are below, from HyroTrader’s own pages checked on 22 October 2026.
HyroTrader rules per program

How HyroTrader calculates the daily drawdown
Each day starts at 00:00 UTC with your equity – balance plus open positions – as the reference. The daily floor is that equity minus the daily percentage of the initial balance, and it does not move up when you are in profit during the day.
HyroTrader’s own example, $100,000 One-Step: the limit is $4,000. Starting the day at $102,000 puts the floor at $98,000; if equity rises to $105,000, the floor stays at $98,000. A dip below it at any moment of the day is a breach.
Maximum loss and trading days
The maximum loss is a fixed share of the initial balance – the floor is $94,000 on a $100,000 One-Step and $90,000 on a Two-Step – and HyroTrader describes all of its loss limits as static. A trading day is a UTC day on which you close a qualifying trade; a trade counts on the day it closes, not the day it opens. Reaching the target early does not waive the minimum days. A stop loss is not mandatory.
Settings in Edgetrail’s prop firm mode
| Field in Edgetrail | Two-Step phase 1 | Two-Step phase 2 | One-Step | Zero-Step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Account size | your balance, e.g. 100,000 | same balance | your balance | your balance |
| Max daily loss | 5% | 5% | 4% | 3% |
| Max drawdown | 10% | 10% | 6% | 5% |
| Drawdown type | Static | Static | Static | Static |
| Profit target | 10% | 5% | 10% | 10% |
| Minimum trading days | 5 | 5 | 5 | 1 |
| Challenge start | first day of the phase | first day of phase 2 | first day | first day |
On the funded account keep the loss limits and set Profit target and Minimum trading days to 0.
Step by step
- Open Settings (gear icon) and, under Features, switch on Prop firm challenge. The challenge start is set to today.
- Fill in Name (optional), Account size, Max daily loss, Max drawdown, Drawdown type (Static or Trailing), Profit target and Minimum trading days from the table above.
- Set Challenge start to the first day of the phase, so earlier trades do not count.
- Enter 0 to switch a rule off. An empty field falls back to the default (5% daily, 10% drawdown, 10% target, 4 days).
- The dashboard now shows the profit target, what is left for today, the drawdown buffer and the trading days. After each save, Edgetrail warns once per level and day at 75% and at 100% of the daily limit and of the drawdown buffer.
Because HyroTrader’s daily limit is a share of the initial balance and the day starts at midnight UTC, Edgetrail’s daily number matches HyroTrader’s whenever no position is open over the UTC midnight and your device’s day lines up with UTC. If you trade the challenge on Bybit and can create a read-only API key for that account, the Bybit import brings the trades in; otherwise use CSV.
Other firms and tools
Firms often mean different things by the same words, so read the rules of the firm you actually trade with. Also written up with dated sources: FTMO rules (2-Step, 1-Step and Instant, with the midnight CE(S)T reset) and Breakout rules (Classic, Pro, Turbo and Spark, with a daily limit that moves with the balance). How static, intraday-trailing and end-of-day-trailing floors move is worked through day by day in trailing vs static drawdown; where your floor sits today shows the drawdown calculator, and how likely a losing streak reaches it at your risk per trade shows the risk of ruin calculator. What to look for in a journal for a challenge is in trading journals for prop firms.
What Edgetrail does not check
- Open positions. Edgetrail counts only realised results of closed trades, after fees, including partial exits on the day they happen. The firm counts open profit and loss as well.
- The firm’s day boundary. A day in Edgetrail ends at midnight in your device’s local time.
- One account by name. Every trade in the account currency since the challenge start counts. If you trade a second account in the same currency during the same period, it counts too.
- Qualifying trading days. HyroTrader counts a UTC day only when you close a trade of at least 5% of the initial balance that moved at least 1% before fees. Edgetrail counts the closing day of every trade, so it can show more days than HyroTrader.
- Profit distribution. On One- and Two-Step no single day may count for more than 40% of the profit target, on Zero-Step no single trade for more than 50%. Edgetrail does not compute it.
- Other rules. Low-cap exposure above 5% of the initial balance, martingale, hedging across challenge accounts and 30 days without a trade are not checked.
- Sync with the firm. There is no sync with prop firm platforms; trades come in via CSV import, by hand or through the exchange imports.

Frequently asked questions
How is HyroTrader’s daily drawdown calculated?
From your equity at 00:00 UTC minus 3, 4 or 5% of the initial balance (Zero-, One- or Two-Step). The floor does not rise when you are in profit during the day, and open positions count.
Is HyroTrader’s maximum loss trailing?
No. HyroTrader describes its loss limits as static: the maximum loss is 5, 6 or 10% of the initial balance and does not follow your highest balance.
What counts as a trading day at HyroTrader?
A UTC day on which you close a trade of at least 5% of the initial balance whose result moved at least 1% before fees. It counts on the closing day.
Does HyroTrader require a stop loss?
No. HyroTrader’s FAQ says a stop loss is not mandatory, although you still have to respect every loss limit.
